Cine Thision - Open Air Cinema

At Cine Thision, you get to watch your movie with a side of Greek tradition and the glowing Parthenon as your backdrop.

Being the oldest open-air cinema in Athens, running since 1935, this place is a real gem. The grounds are well-kept, with lots of green, comfy seats and handy tables for your snacks.

In the canteen you’ll find the usual buttery popcorn and hotdogs, but you can also sip on traditional ouzo, munch on the family’s homemade sweet sour cherries, or their handmade liquor. And don’t miss out on the ice-cold homemade sour cherry juice!

With late-night showings that stretch deep into midnight, don’t hesitate to treat yourself to something extra.

Arcadia Open Air Cinema in Vyronas

Arcadia sits on the rooftop of one of the highest spots around Athens, on the slopes of Hymettus mountain. It’s a bit of a hike (bus or taxi also work) from the city center, but the refreshing air and stunning views are well worth the journey.

You can expect to find mostly mainstream flicks for the whole family and award-winning gems hitting the mix every now or then. They also throw in some classic re-releases and puppet shows for a touch of nostalgia.

Cine Paris Open Air Cinema

The only downside to Cine Paris? Trying to focus on the movie with the Acropolis showing off right next door.

With over a century of cinematic history hidden behind its screen, Cine Paris is now run by the Greek streaming platform and distributor Cinobo - so you can expect to find a hand-picked selection of old and new releases.

It's nestled in an iconic building owned by the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation, giving off endless Athenian charm.

[Pop Up] Stavros Niarchos Foundation - Park Your Cinema

No matter the season, there's always something happening at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. It’s located only 30 minutes away from the city center, near the Flisvos Marina.
